Right, I have a contract with orange UK and I have tried to put another orange UK sim card in the phone and it just says "invalid sim card"

Any ideas why this could be?

Is the new sim from the Orange network of the same country? Orange Switzerland sim cards won't work in locked handsets to Orange France or Orange UK. If the sim is from the same country you're either putting it in the wrong way or the sim is busted.

If it's from an Orange network in a different country to the one the handset is locked in, unlock your handset and it should work just fine.
