Default IT Policy + BES 4.2 + Handset feature

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

Am new to this forum, but have received many good suggestions in past to Blackberry related issues...thanks.

I have a query that somebody may have already come across or may be able to provide assistance. We have a device password set on default IT policy which requires user after 20 mins. of inactivity to key in device passwd. to engage screen - no issues there!

One of our users, however receives automatic call alerts from time to time which require him to confirm received call by keying in a PIN # on device - problem is by the time he gets to putting in device password the facility to input PIN acknowledgement has gone and no confirmation is sent. I have searched on the policy features to allow this but have found nothing. Any suggestions, other than disablement of device passwd. requirement for him(this will not happen of course!)

Tks.

C.

I use something similar to acknowledge alarms from various systems. Ixxx8217;m not sure you can do this but we extended the request time the system drops the call. I doubt you will find a policy setting to just allow this to be bypassed but if the user does not have anything critical on his BB you can always remove the policy from his BB. Not the best or most secure way but the choices are limited.

sorry .

Hi and thank you for the response and sorry about the incorrect placement initially . We are going to pursue an extension on the return notification.
