to make a long story short, we just switched from BIS to BES and the IT wizzards have decided that sms/mms is evil and via IT policy have disabled the native client.

1. any easy way to get this back

2. are there any 3rd party apps for sms/mms that integrate into the BB software.


I dont care about getting in trouble, circumventing policy, and its part of our plan, so its not an issue paying for it.

A bit of advice, don't try to bypass or go around an IT Policy established by your company on a BB. In many cases, that is grounds for termination. You may not care now, but you might later.

I doubt that you will find much help here either in that regard. If you need personal communications, SMS, email, phone, etc., it is best to get your own device.

To get it back, you would need to have the BES Admin/IT Staff change the IT Policy to allow it. I do not know of a 3rd party application. Does the IT Policy allow you to install 3rd party apps on the device? Might check BB App World.

You could always try CrunchSMS. Its free from App World, and completely rips off the way IPhone handles SMS, but its an option none the less
