Default Desktop Stand?

Anyone know if they've released a desktop stand for the 8700 yet? I'm not looking for the fancy ones that also charge, just one to hold the 8700 + the USB charging cable.

According to this site it's available now:

http://www.blackberrystuff.com/blackberry-8700c.htm

I ordered one a few days ago.

Looks like a 62xx/72xx series cradle?

Yeah I'm skeptical too but they show it for the 8700c.

We'll see when it comes. Worse case I send it back.

What about this one? http://www.blackberryden.com/bbdeskstd.html

Seems a good price, and they advertise it as working for the 8700c, but there's nothing official at shopblackberry.com (always makes me a little nervous).

it is is the same stand that is sold with the Nextel 7510/7520. It will stand, but you will want to make sure that you don't bump it, as it will fall out becasue of the hooks used to secure it to the 7500 series blackberries.

quite right. THe 8700 does NOT have the 2 holes in the back that the cradle fits into in order to support it. This kind of works (i have it and tried it) but definitely not made for 8700 series

My old BB was the 6280. I still have the desktop cradle for this, but it doesn't fit the new 8700r. It is too big. Is there one specifically designed for the 8700?

I have one from the 7290 & my 8700 falls out with the slightest of touch. It would be nice to have one "designed" for the 8700...

Well, they never did a desktop stand for the 7100 series...why should we think that they are going to do one for the 8700 series?

Maybe they are now getting OUT of the desktop stand business?

I am using the one from my 7230. It works...kinda. Better than just leaving it on the desk.

Well this is just piling on by now, but I had a stand from my 7280 at home. My 8700c was delivered to my office, so the first thing I did when I got home is to perch the 8700c in the stand. It teetered for a second, seemed to catch, but before I could reach it slid out of the stand, slid along the counter and cracked to the floor! No harm to the unit (knock-on-wood) but the stand was worse than setting it on one of the slanting piles of paper that surround me. The stand is a kind of attractive nuisance, because it looks secure but is not!
