Default BBM contacts

Please Login to Remove!

I have finally decided to let WinMo go on my business line and activated my 8830 there. My problem is it's not ALL business, and I have contacts already in my BBM on the Curve. Is there any way I can make it work w/o requesting them all again?

TIA

Wirelessly posted (9520; (I'm mobile))

Please clarify with details. Are you trying to move your personal contacts from your personal 8330 curve to your new 8830?

If you are trying to move between a Windows Mobile and a Blackberry it should be pretty easy.
Sync the WinMo device with Outlook. Then, install Blackberry Desktop Manager and sync with Outlook.
Both sync well with Outlook.

I have 2 phone lines and previously used the Curve with "normal" set up. I switched the Curve to another line, and my Tour is now on the phone number where the Curve used to be. On the Curve, I can "see" all of my BBM contacts, but I can't bbm any of them (well the msgs send, but nobody is getting them). I have tried to restore from the SD card and remotely thinking that would activate all of my contacts without me having to "invite" each and every one which may cause confusion if they delete the PIN for the Tour. I can BBM all of my contacts just fine from my Tour.

What I'm asking...is there a way for other users to be able to BBM me on 2 different PINs that are both active, or would I have to pick 1 bb and just use that phone only for BBM?

BTW, the Curve is still on OS 4.7, the Tour just graduated to 5.0.

Yes, your friends can have you twice on their BBM contact list IF you have two different BIS accounts.

If you are switching back and forth the SIM card from one device to other... that's gonna get to be a problem.

Here's what I have..4 email accounts on both phones, 2 associated with the Curve's BBM and 2 with Tour. I have 2 different logins for @sprint.blackberry.net (for sending service books, etc). So, I'm thinking any way you look@ it I should be good? So I just have to invite all my friends on the Curve BBM in order to actually be able to send and receive messages? Let me give it a try. (Problem: most of my bbm contacts have bb because they think it's. "Cute" phone and are clueless)

Last thing, gonna update Curve to OS 5.0 first...

Thanks.

Your query would have read

How do I use BlackBerry Messenger?

What you are not getting is that your queries have no relation to this thread. Start a new thread with your query and you'll get answers.

Threadjacking is not good forum etiquette.

The thread is to help sexygyrl, not whoever posts random questions in it.

And he made a thread today saying that this would be his only thread of the day, since he is doing that, I assume he is stealing others threads to ask his own questions. Based on his behavior, I'm starting to suspect kumite is a 10 year old boy.

I've answered your queries here with your username being Kumite.

If you want to be a sexy girl, that's your deal, not for these forums.

In the middle of trying to update my Curve, the cord moved and mucked up the whole process. I was able to restore my data, but I broke down and got a new phone. Anyway, thanks to all of you for suggestions, help, and patience. It turns out that some of my BBM contacts didn't need to be invited, I was able to just start BBM'ing from the new phone with no problem! I'm not sure what was going on before on the 8330, but the 8530 and Tour have no problems with the same list!

Appreciate y'all!

I am not that thrilled to be honest! Somebody told me in the 8530 forum to wait on the release oif the Tour 2. I am not sure if my buttons are just stiff because it's a new phone, or if that's just the way this phone works, but my menu and back buttons require a much more "deliberate" (for lack of a better description) push than they do on 8330 and 9630. While I dig the trackpad, I'm also finding that I can't go up and down pages as fast. I will continue to use the phone for about a week before I make any final decision though.

My 8520 was like that when I first got it, over a month or so it loosened up and felt like a good feel to me. Now I have a new one and I am remembering how stiff it was at first again.

I do like the clickety clack keys though.

It may not be the phone for you, what about the Tour 2 interests you?
