Default T-Mobile/Outlook 2007/BB 8320 - Want To Import Only Select Contact Folders...

Please Login to Remove!

OK-I spent FOUR hours on the telephone with T-Mobile today and am certain what I want to do can be done, although they say no. I have Desktop Manager 5.0.0.11.
I keep several different folders in my Outlook (2007) contacts. What I want to do is have only specific folders in my BB (8320) address book. T-Mobile says I cannot do this but I know that does not make sense. I did select folders in the Manager to go into my BB however ALL of them were synced instead of just the few I selected.
Does anyone know how I can do this?

I'm on an older version of Desktop Manager, and don't have a similar setup but here are some things I'd try:

1. Synchronize>Configuration tab>Configure synch>Select "Choose" for address book>there should be an option near the bottom that asks for folder name. However I think you can only select one folder?

2. Synchronize>Configuration tab>Configure synch>click on the "Configure" drop down menu>advanced>filters -- set up a filter. I'm not sure how your contacts are arranged, but if the different folders also coincide with different categories, you can select specific categories for desktop manager to synch over to your BlackBerry.

I'm a bit more familiar with the second option as I have 2 BBs at home using the same Outlook profile. But the second BB device only synchs a portion of the entire address book.

Can you tell me what process I use to delete all contacts from my BB? I think I have found a solution to my problem but cannot remove what is in there. Thanks!

Wirelessly posted (8820)

Desktop manager -> backup/restore -> advanced ... Clear just the address book database.

Problem solved - I took the contacts I wanted from Outlook and made a new folder naming it Blackberry contacts. I deleted all the contacts in my BB and then only chose the new one to sync AND IT WORKED....
