Default Speed Dial Q Button

Please Login to Remove!

I have a new Bold 9700 and want to assign the Q button to speed dial my home phone, as I did with my previous Blackberry 8700g. But the Bold seems to have come with the Q button pre-programmed to Change Profile to Vibrate Only, which I don't want. I know how to change speed dial assignments, but the device will not allow me to change the Q button assignment (or the A or W buttons, either, which are also pre-programmed). Does anyone know if there's a way to fix this? Thanks very much.

With newer versions of the OS you cannot change the Q and A speed dial keys. W was always set as "1" which is voice mail.

If you go into phone options, the view speed dial keys, high light the letter you want "A" and press enter instead of the menu key. Scroll to the name you want and your done. I am pretty sure though it will revert back after a battery pull.

Yes, you can change it as described above, but it always manages to revert to the default values for Q, A and W keys. I guess RIM thinks they know what we want better than we do ourselves...
