Default Latest OS: 8320 4.5.0.304/4.5.0.181 (Multilanguage)

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.304 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.5.0.304
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.181
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.108
* File name: 8320M_PBr4.5.0_rel304_PL2.7.0.108_A4.5.0.181_BT.ex e
* File size: 92.52MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

* Download Software: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...BF5E03B95AA99F

This download will work on ANY carrier's 8320 model BB. (Not 8300, 8310, 8330, or 8350i)

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded. (Vista users be sure to right click on the .exe file and select "Run As Adminstrator.")
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Thanks for the update Raptor!
Do these updates ever come with change logs?

Very rarely will you ever find a change log. These minor updates are merely bug fixes anyway...maintenance releases really

I am using a BlackBerry Edge WiFi 8320(Curve series but an Edge WiFi system) v4.2.2.180. I am trying to use it as a modem for internet use on my XP laptop. Everywhere I look they call it the Curve 8320 but my BB unit says Edge WiFi. How do I do this from it? Do you have a link on a post that would answer my question? I am new and this is my first attempt to contact a user. UMA is my WiFi setup.

Try here:
BlackBerry FAQ - BlackBerryFAQ

Using BlackBerry As Modem - BlackBerryFAQ

Also you can just use Desktop Manager.

By the way, you're confusing a couple things. The phone is a Curve 8320. It's a model name and number like Toyota Corolla or BMW 328i.

EDGE is a type of cell phone signal. Wifi is of course a wifi signal. If your phone shows EDGE it is connected to an EDGE cell site.
