i did and then i got this really wierd reply giving me a 1800 number and some kind of code saying /msg 5439494

I have ATT and when you call customer service, they can look up the texts, then put a block on them from their end. No texts after that! Call your provider and see if they can block them for you.

It's called a Premium text. The companies usually get your number by filling out silly things online.

If you text STOP, it should stop, if you get a message back with a phone number, I'd call and unlist yourself from it. Depending on the aggregator, it could cost you anywhere from $1 to $5 an sms. It adds up quick, I'd stop it before you get a massive bill.
