I have a BB Tour w/ Verizon and I just called tech support to see if there was a way I can use the "Custom Profiles" feature to make it so when my phone is on silent, I can make it so it only rings for one person when they call / txt me.
She told me it was not possible!!

If the BB software can't do it, is there some type of program that can I can download/buy?

I'd be pretty shocked if this was truly impossible!

Yes, open the contact > menu > Edit > scroll down to custom ring tones/alerts and set the ringtone you want, and under 'play sound', set always.

Thanks! So I found the custom area to put in ring tones/alert for "phone/messages".

But I couldn't find the "always" option? I assume to bypass the silent..

It's hit and miss, sometimes their really good and sometimes they really only know the bare basics!

You know what, I think it's actually working while on silent, I think I just had to put volume at a number instead of "active profile" ?

That's what I love about this forum. And its why I always read through new posts, I've learned things I never even thought of & found answers to things I'd given up on. Admins do a great job here!
