Default 5.0 and phone calls killing phone.

Please Login to Remove!

i have 5.0.230 on loaded. can't recall if this happened on stock software. but my phone completely kills itself once a phone call hits 60 minutes exactly. phone just complete shuts down. and i have to do battery reset.

anyone else with this problem? and is there a cure?

Wirelessly posted

Wow, a 60 minutes call. All my calls for a week does add up (I'm so unpopular).

What's the battery status when the phone comes back on?

Is the phone/battery hot?

Do you have issues with the device loosing power outside of the phone calls?

Is the phone fine after, saaaay a 30 minutes call?

nothing wrong with the phone. or battery. it just flat out shuts down. i've had 5 majority of time and only had phone 4 months now. i don't think i've ever talked 60 minutes when running 4.5 so i don't know if it's a phone issue or software. but i'm really thinking the software. and i don't like 4 enough to go back in time.

you know how it is when talking to an ex. conversations tend to get lengthy at times.

isn't that a beta version? I tried it and scrapped it - since it was so buggy...

the upgrade yes. lots of bugs. clean install has been really nice. the only bug is that 60 minute phone limit. NOT going back to 4.5. that thing sucks.

Is it after a total of 60 mins, or only on long calls.

If it is multiple calls equaling 60 minutes, maybe RIM put a "timebomb" in the software to cause the phone to shut down after 60 min of phone usage. Maybe to prevent people from spreading the beta. After all, it is a BETA version, and not for a production environment.

could be a timebomb. don't know. haven't seen anyone else make a mention on the internet. it's one call. not multiple calls.

Default new google earth version 3.2.1

anyone else download it yet. got rid of all the permission settings 3.2.0 had upon installation. but man does it seem slow.

been running 5.0. did a clean install due to a program causing battery drainage problems. downloaded google and that's the version i got. had no idea it had been updated. i installed some program that lets users know cell phone strength at various locations. it's a new program. so it don't have an actual map as it's waiting for users to upload the files that it makes. to gather data before a map rolls out. but it was a drain on the battery. uninstalled and battery was still draining.

other then shortened battery life. it's a neat idea.

I reloaded 5.0 and it seems to work quite well, but I'm not seeing the shorter bettery life others are reporting.

the program i had installed was my problem. without it. i don't have battery problems either. 5 works like a champ for me. everyone else seems to be having problems becuase they do upgrades instead of clean installs. i have a few storm users also experiencing problems. they are too chicken for the clean install method.

well, called customer service. they did the magical wand over the airwaves. and phone got bricked. went into continuous reboot. so i got a brand new replacement. NOT upgrade. and still have same problem.
