Default set up email, now battery dies quickly

Please Login to Remove!

I've been using my Pearl Flipphone for a few months now and love it. I finally got around to setting it up to do email, linking it to my yahoo account.
It worked great last night, in testing email would show up on my phone only a min or two after I sent it. YEA.

Then today after charging the phone 6hrs last night the battery was dead by noon.

I deleted the email accounts from my phone so now everything is back to where it was before and the battery is doing fine.

Is there a way for me to get email on my BB and have battery life?

thanks

PS. This is an 8220 Pearl Flip phone, I may have posted this in the wrong forum directory.

Default fluke?

Must have been a fluke. I resetup the email addresses and spent the day in the same location for the next two days. No issues with the battery.

Had to be another app running in the back ground - website maybe? Just email shouldn't drain the battery that quickly.

I don't think so, I did check this after reading other posts and didn't find more than the 4-5 standard BB apps running.

thanks for the reply

I did have one more question. When I look at the email on the BB it is marked 'read', this status is transfered to my Yahoo inbox. So at the end of the day when I log onto the computer and look at my email, anything I saw on the phone during the day is also marked 'read'.
Is there a way to turn only this feature off? Often times I see that I received the email on my phone and decide it is something that can wait until I get home before I deal with it. I would prefer if then when I get home, anything I had received since last time logging into the computer is marked unread.
Also I noticed that emails I send from the phone don't appear in the 'Sent Messages' folder in Yahoo. I wish they would.

thanks

I believe yahoo is the only email provider that read/unread status actually works for.
Most people want this, and cant get it; you want it turned off! Irony.
No, sent messages will not appear in a sent folder on yahoo.
They are on the BB only with BIS.
