If it is already set that way; from the home screen, press the menu key and select Show All.

You could always go into your Messages folder and press Alt+S as well.

If still nothing remove the battery for 30 seconds.

And welcome to the forums.

Go back into that setting and verify it is still set to separate. Make sure the setting saved.

Did you do the show all to see if you accidentally hid the icon?

Homescreen > Menu > SHOW ALL, so that show all is checked, and search all over and all folders again.

That was mentioned in post #3 which you also quoted. Are you not following the steps as they're posted? You need to help us help you if you want your issue resolved.

Then I would do what JSanders suggested and check all of your folders. It could have possibly been moved there.

You stated that you have folders on your desktop as you have the option to move to folder. There should be a downloads folder, and applications folder, etc. Highlight one of the folders and select it. From there you should see the icons in the selected folder. Look for your SMS/MMS icon.

What happens when you go into Messages and press Alt S, do you get the same message?
