Very long story, please bare with me, I want to explain this the best I can.
I am on a BES at work, last Friday they increased their security so that my phone locks out every 30 minutes. Which is fine, I don’t care.
The next day my BB Messenger told me that I was now on a “New Device” and asked me if I wanted to transfer my contact, if I didn’t they would be lost. I pressed “no” because I didn’t transfer to a new device, and I lost them all, and then the messenger program stopped working.
I took it to Sprint and they said it went corrupt and they needed to replace the phone.
Okay, so I got me new phone the last weekend. Got the BES re-connected and all is fine until this morning when the BB Messenger said I transferred to a new device again. This time I pressed “yes”.
So here is my question:
Is this because I am on a BES and it is continuously updating because of the “new” security? Or is it because of my phone service?
I have been on a BES since February and I never had this problem until my employer increased their security. Are the two things related?
Sorry for the long drawn out explanation, but I wanted to be as clear as possible.
i haven't seen that issue yet in our BES environment. I have security, also set at 30 min, this is actually the longest time out available!! it annoyed the hell out of my users, but they understand the need for it now.
