Default Date/Time Won't Update

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 8110 Pearl one of many problems is that the Date/Time won't update? I go to Options > Date/Time change it to my local time and date, Save it and nothing? It goes back to some weird 1969 year and 4pm time.

I have reloaded the OS and tried updating it but the problem still persists.

Anyone have any solutions/suggestions for this problem?

Thanks

Parra

Have you tried making the Time Source: Network and then tell it to update and see what happens?

When you reloaded the OS, did you upgrade to the lastest one for your device, or did you reload the original from the carrier? If you haven't, how about trying the lastest OS for your device. File and instructions can be found in the forum specific to your device.

First time I reloaded the OS it was from ATT but I also tried your suggestion and used the OS in the forum and while it loaded properly the date/time issue remained?

Hope someone can help me out?

thanks

What exactly does you date and time screen display. From top to bottom, even what the network time and date reads

Here you go, I guess the time zone is the only thing that stays.

Time Zone: Pacific Time (-8)(GMT-8:00)Pacific Time (US&Canada)
Time: 4:00 PM
Time Format: 12 hour
Date: Wed, Dec 31, 1969
Date/Time Source: Off
Network time not available

Try making the date/time source to be either BlackBerry or Network and see. And then set the date and time and save

I did try changing the source and that didn't fix the problem.

Hate to be the one to tell you this then, but you are in 1969.

Network time not available

This looks to me like your phone isn't properly registering on the network. That area should display the current time and date. As sent to your phone by the network.

Something strange??? While the data/time doesn't set the clock doesn't mark time? So the time is set to 4:00PM and after 5 minutes it's still reads 4:00PM.

You probabally have, but have you turned the phone off, pulled the battery held the red key for 15 seconds waited 15 more then put the battery back in and let the phone reboot?

Grandpa, is it you? Buy me some IBM shares.

1969 sounds really odd. Why would this new a device be going back that far?

The phone does properly register the network time "the area below" where you set the time and I did take out the battery and press the button and let it reboot and nothing, still the issue.

The funny thing is that I haven't seen any postings with this problem?

I'm Sorry I must have misread where it said "network time unavailable" in your post. I know it would be a pain, but I would try to install the OS one more time. Either use the one from ATT or use another removing the vendor xml file. Its just a glitch in the software that is causing this.

I have updated the phone with ATT OS, Vodaphone OS, 8100 OS, 8120 OS and who knows what else and the problem still is there?!? I have wiped it clean JL_CMDER before each uploading and as mention the problem is still there.

Is there a software that I'm not aware of? The foundation that the OS runs off (on the phone)?

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks

One weird thing is, even if I change Date/Time Source to Off, I still have a network time and date showing below that. If yours is showing unavailable, that's different.

Not sure what would block just that info. If re-registering doesn't work, maybe sim card?

I'm using the sim card of my 1st Pearl and I don't have any date/time issues.

The network time is available and it lists it correctly, the issue is the when I change the time ontop of the network time and save it, it doesnt' save.
