Default Storm: Radio keeps switching itself off

Please Login to Remove!

I've discovered a really annoying bug in the Storm 9500 software. I noticed on .141 and now on .167. Every couple of days or so, randomly, the GSM/GPRS/3G radio will switch itself off. It does this regardless of what the battery is like at the time and without any sort of notification. It's rather annoying discovering at the end of the day that I've got 15 voicemails from people asking me why my phone is off, just because the wireless switched itself off that morning.

Anyone know what the problem / solution is?

Kinda the same thing happened to me today. I installed Vlingo 2.0 and TalkLock at the same time. Don't know which one of them was causing the problem, and end up deleting both of them. My Storm didn't turn off the radio, it was switching to other mobile networks. I think you should go to options, mobile network, and then pick Network Selection Mode: Manual. I hope it works.

I had this issue with my son's Pearl. He had no 3rd party apps, low memory and network set to manual. After several frustrating days, got it swapped out by Verizon. No issues.

I've had where the radio shuts off due to no signal strength for an extended period of time.

If the battery gets very low, the radio will also shut off.

Default Blackberry Storm EDGE network solutions

Hello Fellow Storm Trooper
I used to have this EDGE problem It felt like I am about to get near the EDGE of my whit's I suggest following the following procedures. I have read all the the problems existing with this unlock Storm
this for your device BB STORM 9530
Step# 1 replace the the SIM card
Step# 2 make sure the IMEI of your device is registered at your mobile
carrier . Your carrier needs to PROVISION your device.
Step #3 change the TCP/IP to the correct setting
this is available through your carrier
Step#4 proceed to Host Routing Table and go to menu and click
Register Now
step#5 on Network setting
Data service on
network selection mode should be on
Automatic A
Network Technology
Global
On your Carrier setting ( this your online Account through cell company
for blackberry account ATT or TMobile
you must set up a comparable Blackberry device " latest" this will allow your device to be recognize on the any of the gsm network.
you need to send a service book through your online setup. you will then recieve a comfirmation.
The storm work best if you use the global settings to work on EDGE network.
Please be aware the settings everyone knows will not work because the Unlock Storm is meant for Verizon network only . Unlocking is just a initial step. The last step is to think you are outside the United States. wondering the phone works all the time as all mobile carrier have reciprocity with in each other. Also make sure you have unlimited DATA plan on your carrier avoid upgrading the OS through wireless means. signal sometimes weakens occasionally. you might not get complete files or corrupted. I have my STORM works faster also closed all prgrams running this PDA design is not able to run all application at the same time.

Hope this solved all your problem
