Lightbulb Best Practise Security Policy

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

I am an admin of a couple od BES Enterprise Servers and until now we have not been strict on policies.

I have been asked to forumlate a policy based on best practises.

Is there a default best practise guide RIM provides?

What advise can you please give?

Thanks
Mike

We currently have a very simple policy.

A 4 character minimum password is required.
Device timeout of at least 30 min. before locking.
Password does not expire.

I would download the IT Policy pdf for the version of BES you're running and read it over.

It seems that most admins as a best practice use passwords and block 3rd party downloads. It all depends on the type of business, data, and users you support.
