Hi guys,

Ive problem and i really hope you guys can help:

Ive recently installed BES 4.1 (Exchange2007) and i have 2 users working perfectly via wireless activation.

I have a 3rd user that ive been battling to get his 8900 migrated away from desktop redirector and onto BES. Ive tried to tried wireless activation but to no avail. I cannot connect the handset directly to the BES server as its part of a hyper V installion (no USB support - thanks Microsoft!)

Here is what ive done:
1. security wiped the handset
2. uninstalled DM (configed to use Desktop Redirector) from users machine.
3. created account in BES - selected the activate via users DM option.
4. re-installed DM on users machine and chose BES option.
5. Plugged in handset to users machine - phone activated - all looks good.
6. In the BES i see the users status as 'RUNNING'

BUT -

Here's the headscratcher - mails can only be sent from or to the handset so long as the phone is plugged into the machine. As soon as i unplug it, it no longer redirects?

Any help would be appreciated!

check with the carrier of that device to make sure it is PROVISIONED correctly.
this has been documented by someon else here as being the same type of problem where the carrier hadnt provisioned the account with BES service.
