the forums so much i have a headache...

new to BB, came from Palm w/ACT as my contact database, simple ACT Link for Palm setup.

I'm happy with the BB but can't seem to get ACT contacts/calendar into it. I used to use Outlook Express for email. I installed Outlook 2007 and don't really care about having all the notes, etc. from each contact in my phone that ACT gave me but I'd really like their info: name, address, phone, fax, email, etc.

Is there ANYWAY to do this without spending $250/yr to sync or buying 3rd party software? I have BB Desktop Mgr installed, ACT 2008 (which has all my current calenadar and contact info) and Outlook 2007. There HAS to be some way to import info to the BB.

Can u go into the sync settings and select outlook to sync with your device? I am not sure if Act will show up when you use the desktop manager synchronization settings. I don't have act on my computer, but, it may show up in the setting when you run the wizard. Just a thought, if you haven't tried it already.

i cant' even find the sync settings. when i'm in calendar there is nothing under "options" that says anything about sync.

Need desktop manager(preferably 4.7) to do your syncing. I would use your palm software to get it to sync to outlook, then use desktop manager to sync from outlook to blackberry

In BB desktop manager, go to:

1. Synchronize
2. Configuration
3. Configure Sync
4. Select calendar from handheld applications, and select CHOOSE from the right.
5. The new window that comes up should list the applications you can sync from.

thanks...combination of answers helped. ACT Contact list > tools > export to Excel. then save the file, import it into Outlook, then from bb dt mgr. sync to outlook.

next try will be my calendar but i'm sure it'll be similar.

Good as long as you can export and import to Outlook you should be good to go.
