Cheney: After 6 years we have accomplished most of our goals in Iraq. The war was worth it. Iran pursuing Nuclear Weapons. Bush was wrong to support European diplomacy towards Iran. Stopped Nuclear proliferation. Wanted N. Korea to be left on the State sponsored terrorism list. Did not support Bush's choice for diplomat to N. Korea.
Where did he go off on Obama? Those were the points he made in the first video and the second video he talks more about domestic issues and again doesn't go off on Obama but its more about answering questions about the Bush administration.
Maybe I missed it but the text of the article doesn't match up with the video?
Needless to say I'm not for torture and all for the end of troops in Iraq. And I think I would like Cheney to go back to Wyoming and stay there.

I agree with everything he says. Ive already given my point of view of the treatment in another thread. No sense in rehashing that. I voted yes. Not afraid to tell my vote.

My guess is that every time he opens his mouth Obama's support increases. His policies have largely -- not totally -- failed.

He has valid points.... Obama is *asking* for us to get attacked again.... Now Russia wants to use Cuban airfields to refule long range bombers...
Let's see how he reacts to that!

I see nothing of torture mentioned in this video.
But lets see:
WMD in Iraq
Torture
Patriot Act
Attacking Iran
Attacking N. Korea
Indefinitely holding people at Gitmo
Haliburton
Yeah I'm glad he has no power anymore. As for Russia & Cuba, what are we in the 1960's again. They are not the enemy, and we have bases in Japan, Turkey and many other countries are those not used for refueling?

The same will be said about Obama in a few years after he is done giving hugs to our enemies, lets the Russians do as they please, while North Korea and Iran develop nukes as he gives em hugs and kisses....
If you think the Soviets having use of an airfield right outside our back door is a good idea, then you Sir, have lost your mind!

Um, The soviets are not doing anything unless your stuck in a time warp. And Bush was the one who took N. Koea off the terrorist list. I personally do not think that Russia is an enemy, that is my belief.
"The US Has 761 Military Bases Across the Planet,
and We Simply Never Talk About It"
And this map was done before the Iraq war. But yes we should be threatened by Cuba possible having a Russian base open up. Hypocritical?
Glad Cheney is gone and that his theories are fading as well.

We shall see.... There is a reason we have not been attacked since 9/11... A very clear message was sent to our enemies...
If you think the cold war can't come back, or worse due to a lack of leadership then you are mistaken...

Lack of Leadership? ok, so not the Russians, Iranians or N. Koreans?
Personally I think the threat comes from the economic rise of Russia, India & China. Not militarily. They have the people and the resources to drain our economy for decades, and its all part of the natural swing of their emerging economies.

The rise of a military is not done in a vacuum. Russia was not flying probing military bomber missions when their economy sucked. As our adversaries increase economically, so will their military structures. They will also test the united states to see if we have the backbone to say no. If we do sit by and say nothing, we will see more.

I understand that you need money to fly bombers, no question. But the motives are the question, do you think the Russians are out to take over the world or to protect there interests. We have bases on all sides of them, should we not expect them to want to return the favor? Thats the cold war all over again and if those were good times then go right ahead and proceed as we did back then.

But Lunk you dodged the question of what to do with our bases on the Russian border? should we close those? or are we allowed to do what we want because we are the USA?

We should keep them! And yes there is a double standard and should be one when it come to the defense of our nation...
Simple, tell the Russians that if you use Cuba, we won't be giving the 400 gazillion dollars a year we currently hand over....
If they don't like it, oh well..... We can make Cuba into a parking lot...

As long as the US has the invitation from those who wish the security of having US bases in their nation, take advantage of the situation.
I am sure there are those in this conversation who actually "hope" we could fail at the international diplomacy targeting at protecting our nation first, and our interests as well. With Hillary Clinton as a SoS, we should all be fearful.
Shame on you. Wake up. There are people out there who are intent on doing us harm and is in their national interest to see our republic torn apart.
