Angry DST Issue, HELP!!!!!

Please Login to Remove!

I am having a DST issue after this years time change. When I enter an appointment in outlook it syncs fine, but when I enter an appointment in the BB it shows up an hour later in outlook. I can edit the appointment to the correct time in outlook and it will stay the same in BB.

We are running Exchange 2003(sp2) on a Win 2k3(sp2) server, Our BES is V4.0.5 running on a 2k3(sp2) server.

I have only seen the issue on BB Pearls running the software v4.3.

I need help, this is affecting out CEO and others in the company. If you know the answer feel free to email me at [email address].

Thanks Andy.

I'm bumping this as i'm having the same problem with my BOLD. I went to the 2007 calendar patch site and it said that the 2007 calendar patch currently not available for my device software version.

DST patch should already be on the BOLD so there shouldn't be any need. Are you a domino/notes environment or exchange?

The 4.3 OS needs the DST patch. This can be found on RIMs website. You can add it as a push app, or download it OTA on the devices.

I'm not real familiar with the DST issue on exchange, but do you know if there was a seperate DST patch issued for exchange than the OS patch? I would assume that you put on all the appropriate patches to the OS, exchange, and your desktops. and that you have the correct timezone set on your blackberry device.

[QUOTE=WMedley;1314406]The 4.3 OS needs the DST patch. This can be found on RIMs website. You can add it as a push app, or download it OTA on the devices.

The 8120s had the patch pushed to them from the BES, and it didnt help. Plus there is no option for a patch to be run on the device the already has 4.3. Here is a link.

from the page

BlackBerry Device Software Version 4.2.1 or later
This new version of BlackBerry Device Software, when released, will contain the new Daylight Saving Time (DST) table to support the new transition times so no action is required.

I'm having an issue with 4 users:

Two 8830, 4.2.2.176 - BES1
7250, 4.1.0.268 - BES2
8700, 4.1.0.377 - BES2

I've triple checked this, all 4 users have the 2.5 version of the time zone patcher listed under applications from the properties of their BES account.

They are all on the same exchange server, which is patched with the same version cdo.dll the other exchange servers are (6.5.7654.12). No users on any other Exchange server are complaining.

They are on 2 different BES servers (as indicated). No other users on either BES are complaining.

I'm at a loss. My only thought is their clients aren't patched, so if I logged in to their mailbox, I'd see the items displayed properly. But when they look at it on their boxes, it shows it off an hour because of their client?

I'm attempting to reach any of the 4 users to troubleshoot, but they over 1,000 miles from me.

Did you patch your BES and Exch for DST in 2007? Your CDO.dll needs to be at least 6.5.7651.61. Any earlier and it's not DST.

Edit: BTW this was directed at the OP.

Yeah back in 2007 we had to patch the Exchange and BES boxes to CDO 6.5.7651.61 and update all the Outlook clients. We were pushing the patch helper to the BBs alongside that and no probs. Basically whenever I have seen a prob since 2007, it has always been one of the components (server, client, BB) not being patched.

You can literally copy the cdo.dll file from exchange to the BES.

You shouldn't copy dll's from the Exchange Server to the MAPI client (BES). The OP needs to apply Exchange 2003 SP2 from Microsoft's website on the BES, and then download the DST patch as well.

DST patch is found in KB926666.
Update for daylight saving time changes in 2007 for Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2

I am surprised the OP is only having DST issues. I am sure some users are having email reconciliation issues as well since their EMSMDB32.dll file is lower on the BES than what the version of exchange is (SP2).

Copying the file worked for my, it seems all appointment a syncing OK now. But as I was working I did notice my BES server is out of date. How would I run the exchange updates on the BES server? Or should I just run the regular windows updates.

If you mean the BES CDO is out of date with Exchange, check the thread regarding the latest Exchange security patch for me info. Basically the latest Exchange update changes the CDO but RIM is yet to validate that CDO. Some of us have upgraded the BES ok and some haven't bothered. I haven't bothered and see no ill effects yet....

But yeah if you want it, apply the Exchange Security Patch to the BES.

Sorry, But I have to bump this thread. All of my issue were fixed with the CDO versions being corrected. But now I have one HH that is not right, and of course its the CEO's, haha. His BB is always off an hour now, not matter how I enter the event. He is using an 8120, I have switched BB;s and applied the patch again. I am not sure where to look now, can anyone help me?

Have you checked all the old DST threads as I know this is covered tons. If just one guy, I would try these but the other threads will be of more use -

Battery pull
Check his timezone is right
Double-check each BB is patched
Check his outlook is patched also
