I got a Blackberry for work and it syncs up with my office's Exchange 2003 server very nicely.

I've been using it to check my personal e-mail with the browser, but it would be more convenient to get it through the e-mail interface. When I set it up, though, all of the personal and business e-mails are listed together on the Blackberry. That makes it difficult to work with.

Is there any way to set them up separately? I have a 7100t with T-Mobile service.

Don't quote me on this but I think you can set up folders that will seperate it all. When it comes it you specify which folder you want your mail to go into based on the email address. If I get some time I'll read up on it but I believe that you can do just that.

I see the folders on the Blackberry, but I can't figure out how to work with them. I'm more than happy to read up myself but I don't even know where to go.

The user manuals that came with the unit don't talk about the folders at all.

I created a Search that found email only from "account 1", assigned it a hotkey, then saved it. Did the same for my other 5 accounts. Now I can hit alt + something and it will display only those emails.

You can set up a custom search similar to ALT I (incoming) or ALT O (Outgoing) that is tied to specific email accouts or specific subfolders

for subfolder shortcuts:
From "messages" hit S to start a search

Folder: (change this option and select the subfolder you want)
Show: Sent and Received
Type: email
click the wheel and hit "save"
Give the search a title and select a letter that will be your shortcut
click the wheel and save


for email account:
From "messages" hit S to start a search
type your email address (for the account you want to switch to) in "Name"
Folder: all folders
Show: Sent and Received
Type: email
click the wheel and hit "save"
Give the search a title and select a letter that will be your shortcut
click wheel and save

now you can use these shortcuts to go to easily switch between email accounts and subfolders

That mostly works, but it's not from the account, per se. It searches the address fields, not the account from which the e-mail was downloaded.

Now most of the time that's fine, but I'm on several listservs where the To: field only shows "listserv@gumchewing.com" and not my e-mail address. Those will get filtered out.

HH Software 4.1 [which has not been released yet] used with BB Internet Service will allow you to have different icons on the home screen for each email account.
