If someone knew the official date, I'm pretty sure it would be posted. How about you watch all the other "Release date" threads, people add to those as they get more information.

As with anything on the Robbers Wireless network they'll get to it when they get to it, probably need to determine how to rip off subscribers via 3yr upgrades... There not rushing cause one user wants a reliable release date. Sources still have it slated for mid-Nov. to before x-mas.

ok, you freaks of nature. If you predicted a Rogers release date -- your a fool for believing whoever told you these lies. I've been victim of this before, and will never do this again..

it's released when it's released.. period, and speculation is just fools gold.

no offense to the poster, but does it really matter? No sane person wants to get a phone the first month, let alone week it comes out. Wait for the bugs to be fixed. It's alright if you want to pay money just to be a beta tester (I've been guilty of that before and by god I'll do it again! I'm sick!) but we WILL see posts from customers the very first day this is released. I remember getting caught up in the Treo 650 hoolah the first week it came out. And at least for cingular we didn't get stable firmware for at least 6 months. Granted this is a BB and not palm or windows device, but I would still not buy this thing the very first day it came out. Normally I don't consider a device officially *released* until I see confirmation of stable firmware.

But still my contract is up in December and I'm foaming at the mouth in anticipation of the 8700.

I'll take any Rogers phone the first month it comes out... Maybe you don't deal with Rogers and don't pay attention, but they are notoriously later than most carriers when they release a product. Why is this we ask... because they only want to release stuff that works. Any idea of what this ROKR return rate thing is costing? In manpower, logistics and lost customers/revenue?

Edited. Sorry.
cd.

I agree with Corey about Rogers. Also, The 8700 series has been out for some time for beta testing so you can bet that RIM will have a solid OS running on it. You really think they would release there flagship BB with bunk software? Anyway, I can't wait to get my hands on one!
