Default Does Blackberry have a desktop calendar that you can .....

Please Login to Remove!

enter data into, then sync with the Bold?
I currently have a Palm Treo600 that I'll need to replace and I'm thinking about replacing it with the Blackberry Bold.

The thing I like most about the Palm system is that the Address Book, the Calendar, Memo, and To Do are all conveniently incorporated in the Palm Desktop software. This allows me to enter data in the Desktop Software via my laptop keyboard then sync to the Palm hand held device.

It appears that this type of Desktop software is not available with the Blackberry. I downloaded the Blackberry Desktop software and it looks like I can just back up the data on the hand held and there is no Blackberry desktop calendar or address software.

Is this a correct assumption?

You may sync the hand held with MS Outlook, Lotus Notes, CSV file, Yahoo, Google.... But it does not come with a desktop PIM, no.

Most use Outlook since that is on most business desktops these days. I came from the Treo world as well, but always used Outlook rather than the Palm Desktop. But don't feel left out. There are many former Treo converts to BB who used the Palm Desktop.

You can use the Outlook conduit to sync the Palm to Outlook and then sync your new BB to Outlook so all your data will come over.

I guess this is as close as it'll get?

BlackBerry - BlackBerry Unite!

But Palm Desktop was a great program - nice and simple.

I sync mine with Google Calendar. Works great and I can have access to gCal from any desktop with a net connection.

I second the Google Calnedar sync option. Use it to sync my calendar info on my BB, laptop, office desktop, home PC and wife's PC. Works very well other than the occasional dupe.

I'm running 64bit Vista and the Palm doesn't sync with 64bit Vista. (driver problem) I'm currently backing up my Palm to my wife's XP based PC.

Try the Switch Device Option in Desktop Manager.

Default Thanks. I'll have to look at this as an option.

It may work for me just to use as a single user. The problem for me is that I don't see the address book, memo or To Do functions in Unite.
