Question MySpace?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys. I'm downloading the MySpace app and it's asking me if I want to "set the application permissions." What exactly does this mean?

I searched and couldn't find much.

Thank you!!

You should let it set the permission to its default. It will (should) ask you to view, then just escape from that window and proceed with the download/install.

In addition, you will see this with other 3rd party application installs. Follow the steps JSanders stated and all will be well!

One more thing..

Is anyone having trouble with there MySpace app? This was my 2nd time installing it because my notifications weren't working. I will get an email saying I have a new message or comment but it never shows a notification on the app itself. It used to show on the app and at the top of my screen the MySpace icon would show up. It doesn't do that anymore.

Any suggestions?

There seemed to be a slight outage today (uncofirmed I think) see if it working now.

Are signing into MySpace with an Email address that is on your BlackBerry? (Registered in your BIS Account)

I logged onto MySpace and then went to "check for updates" and it said there werent any available.

& yes, my email for MySpace is my Yahoo account which is registered to my BB as well as my BB account.

I saw in one post where someone suggested changing the account settings in MySpace but the mobile notifications there just mean I'll get a text message everytime I get something new.

I just want it back to how the app itself will notify me with the little MySpace icon at the top and the red star looking thing on the icon.

Does that make sense?

What version are you running now? I am running 1.0.0.22 which I downloaded a few days ago.

I know what you mean, You've re-installed... It requires a reset after the uninstall. What OS are you running on your BlackBerry and do you happen to be on a BES with an IT policy?

Head over to options -> Advanced Options -> Application and find the MySpace App choose edit default permission. What do you have set for Connections, Interactions, and User Data? When I installed this I was never prompted to edit the application permission. Also which version are you running?

BES with IT Policy?
I'm sorry, I'm still learning. You gotta break that down for me.

I went to the MySpace app and it says I'm running version 1.0.0.22 which I'm assuming is the most recent?!

I also went to edit default permissions.
For connections it's set as "Custom."
For interactions it's set as "Custom."
& for user data it's set to "Allow."

What should they be set on?

& as for the version of software on my BB, I think it's 4.2.2.180.
I know I can update it but I haven't tried yet because I'm worried I'm gonna screw it up.

I'm having the same problem. Updated to the new version, but I only receive the emails, and not the actual notifications within the app, like the facebook app does. Anyone experiencing the same thing or happened to find a fix for it?

I'm just gonna say that Myspace's first attempt at a blackberry app sucks....looks good, and for what it is, it works ok. But I have never gotten a signel notification with this thing. I'm about ready to uninstall the damn thing and wait til I see a permanent fix for it

I don't think it sucks, but I do believe I'm gunna uninstall it also, at least until the notifications thing gets fixed. At this time the app really serves no purpose for me, because i get the emails, and I can just click on the links and use the browser to go to myspace mobile. The app is a great idea though, it really simplifies everything, I just wish it would work! :(
