So what the heck is the trick to answering this phone?
Call comes in. . . I hear my song I put in for my ring tone.. . I hit the answer button on the screen. . . Nothing. . song restarts. . I hit it again. . . nothing. . song restarts. . I hit the hard key. . Nothing. . Hit the touch key. . .and finally it picks up.
Nah it's not locked it takes a couple of times of pushing the Answer icon before it will answer the call. Even if I press the answer hard key it won't answer the first time for some reason.
This has happened to me too, especially if I am in landscape mode- and it just seemed to start, it was not doing it when I first got it. Anybody have the same problem if you just push the answer button (green phone icon) under the screen, instead of the answer button on the screen? I am going to try that for awhile and see if that works better.
the hard key doesn't work either. . at least not for me. . . I have tried answering the phone many times and it wouldn't pick up and I missed the call.
I have yet to have this happen to me, but I also have been using the send key to answer and not touching the screen. Next time I get a phone call I'll try to remember to touch the screen and see what happens.

What am I doing wrong?
I have seen this problem. You should dial *228, then option 1. This fixed this problem for me. This should be done (with Option 2 instead of 1) on a monthly basis according to Verizon. 73

What does that do? Would I lose any information or data on my phone by hitting the program option 1?
mine does it when its in landscape mode and a call comes in. If you flip the phone straight up and let it adjust the view first then answer should work

Hitting 1 just programs the phone. Hitting 2 just updates your roaming capabilities. Has nothing to do with his issue.
