That's CDMA though. Different radio frequencys and stuff. I'm not entirely sure why its not a "3g phone" because it technically, it is "3g". Ill research that and post it back here so we all know

Yes, that counts. The 8130 is a CDMA phone that is EVDO compatable, that means 3G. I do not know, however, if the pearl gets 3G data speeds, but it does have tether capabilities so sync it up with your laptop/desktop. Go to mobilespeedtest.com and check what speeds you get.

Oh, and no, they have not released a UMTS pearl yet. I believe the Storm and Bold are the only UMTS BB's out.

yeah it is 3g, and has 3g speeds. thats why CDMA is awesome
