Default Radio problem with .162

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Bold and just updated to .162

Many times during the day, the signal strength indicator goes down to one bar and there is nothing written to the left of the indicator. The phone is off the network too.

Only way to fix this is to turn off the radio from "Manage Connections" and turn it on again.

Have tried a battery pull - made no difference.

Not a problem with signal strength as it's happened in many places and it shows 4-5 bars and EDGE as soon as I turned the radio off and on.

Started just after I upgraded to .162

ANyone had this problem and found a solution?

If not I'll have to try a new software version or downgrade

Thanks

I hope .162 is good. I had .167 and am downgrading due to the annoying clock popping up and when I would start a video the unit would crash and reboot. I'm only going with official releases from now on.

I had similar issues with my 7130g, OP. Unfortunately, there's nothing that I could do to fix it. Tech support at Rogers even was shaking their heads (I know, I know - Rogers blows for the most part).

But, to comment on the 9000, I'm running .162 and have had no issues. I've even held on to 3g in an area where I'm not supposed to have it yet

Hey guys with the Bold. I need help. And I finally found what I was searching for... Ok, so I got a friend of mine who's complaining about the same clock thing and he said it's sort of like draining the battery rather very quickly (is that even connected?)... I don't have a Bold yet so I'm asking

What could've triggered that thing? What else is there to check other than to update to the latest available? Battery pulls give him a quick relief but not for long each time though

^^ 162 seems to have fixed it, at least for now.

I'm using 167 and everything is going just fine. Never restart and also i have a lot of video in it and never crash and reboot itself while watching video. And the clock is never popping up.

So smooth with 167

yes i had that problem with .162 when I originally installed the beta, but since I am with O2 I downloaded their official release of .162 and that solved the problem for me, maybe worth a try for you?

I have the same issue here as well. On .165 (platform 4.0.0.155) and the signal keeps getting dropped! Only solution is to turn the radio off and then on again but this is not the solution. Anyone else out there with this problem and resolved it somehow?

Thanks!
