Default Synchronising my bold with my Mac

Please Login to Remove!

I have just purchased a BOLD my first blackberry even though i am an ardent mac user!

However the synchronisation is a prob. I am using Pocketmac SyncManager and it does not seem to want to add any emails i send from my Blackberry to my mac mail.

Also it seems unable to see my media card and cannot upload my music from iTunes or pics from iPhotos.

I can live without iTunes and iPhotos but need my emails sent from the blackberry loaded up to mail package.

Additionally all day events in my Mac organsiser (iClac) are often 2-3 days out after synchronisation!

I have tried to switch to Missing Sync for Wondows but this fails completely. If switching do i need to disable Pocketmac SyncManager?

Any thoughts suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

David

yeah, you can't really sync with a Mac yet... as far as I know, Pocketmac Syncmanager hasn't updated itself to support Bold. I'm a Mac user and have been for a long time, but for backing up data from the Bold, I have to use my sister's PC and use Desktop Manager. I still am quite perplexed as to why they haven't made a desktop manager for Mac...

also, i have to manually copy my photos/music onto the phone. so basically using the bold as mass media storage on the mac and then copying the music files into the music folder and the picture files into the picture folder (but not through itunes or iphoto...just through the finder)...

You mentioned Missing Sync for Windows? I have used "Missing Sync for BB" for my Curve, and it will sync Calendar, and Address Book. I'm not sure if it will sync sent emails. And I have not tried it with the Bold. You will need to uninstall Pocket Mac before installing Missing Sync. Apparently, there is a conflict somewhere with the two packages.

You may need to bcc yourself when sending from the BB (there is a setting on the BIS page) AND set a filter in BIS to NOT forward email from your address. End result: a copy of the mail you sent from the BB in your desktop Inbox, but NOT on the BB.

Last, if you have an Intel Mac, try BootCamp for native Windows or VMWare or Parallels for a virtual machine. I use VMWare and Windows XP on my Gen 1 Intel MacBook Pro and sync with Outlook 2007 and BB Desktop with no problems.

BlackBerry and PocketMac announced (I think Boy Genius has a post on this on his blog) that PocketMac will have full support for the Bold for syncing music from iTunes and photos from iPhone sometime in Q1 2009. Check his blog, but I'm pretty sure I remember this.

Missing Sync for Mac takes care of everything including iTunes and iPhoto. Emails do not sync. You can use BIS to forward a copy of all your emails to your POP mail...

Yes, MissingSync for Mac will sync most everything you need. As for mail, if you have an IMAP account, all that mail will be backed-up into your mail program as well.

Missing Sync for BB on a MAC is excellent.
Forget PocketMac, as you get what you pay for. It stinks.
