Default Trouble with Bold

Please Login to Remove!

Ive had a blackberry since they were those b&w pager things, ive never had a single problem with any of them.

I just got the bold a few weeks ago, and something strange is happening.

Half of the time I will not be able to receive calls, it will go straight to my answering machine, I get a ton of dropped calls, and most notably, 9/10 text messages that are sent to me after 10pm will arrive sometime after 5am, or sometimes not at all.

For instance, I did a test last night: I asked a group of people on different networks to send me a text after 10pm, and I got them all at 5:44:44am.

I have called Rogers tech support a number of times. I replaced my old sim card, they reset their system or something, and even got a replacement Bold, but its still happening.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I hate to say it but which OS you are suing will have little effect. 3G service demand a better than average signal. Poor or less than great signal is going to give poor service. I am using a Rogers Bold on AT&T in Jax, FL and they have excellent coverage which has resulted is zero dropped calls and I am on the original OS!

You need to tell Robbers to use that extra money they are charging for some more towers!

You're right.

I'm having no issues with my Bold.

Exact same situation here, but in New Jersey. AT&T service, Rogers Bold unlocked by Horizon Wireless, original OS 4.6.0.125, and absolutely ZERO issues with it. Great call clarity, no drops, great battery life, fast GPS lock-in.

Reception is key, not OS.

Why are you using w@p?

What do you mean "key"?

I use w@p 'cause I use the offerings of my carrier (Just-in-time Bill check, monthly free music downloads, TV via HSDPA for free, Software offerings, News, personal RSS Feeds etc) they are free included in the Vodafone contracts here and that normally works great...
