Default Fixing a corrupt Inbox in Lotus Notes resulted in a $Inbox folder on BB

Please Login to Remove!

Last week a user complained he wasn't receiving messages to the BB. Turns out they were all being delivered in Lotus Notes to his All Documents view, not the Inbox. So we moved out the messages, deleted the $Inbox and refreshed his design to get a new Inbox, and then moved back the messages to the Inbox.

Now, a week later, he tells me that since we did that now his Inbox shows up as a folder called $Inbox. Unfortunately I can't see what he's talking about as he's not located locally but nationally. I think his original message list has become this $Inbox folder.

I've suggested he wipe the device and reactivate it but back up his messages only first as he wants them restored afterwards. I think perhaps I should delete and re-add him to the BES as well to give him a new state datbase. He's new from a couple of weeks ago.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Pam

We've seen this problem Usually a compact, fixup, and updall will fix the problem. The user cannot be in the mail file when u do this.

I tried that and had the user do a reset on his BB but he says no change. I'm thinking that if he really wants it fixed I need to delete him from the BES and at the same time have him back up his messages and then wipe the device, restore them, and the reactivate with a new state database.

have you run the maintenance task as x14 described on the state database of the user ?

deleting and recreating solve most of the problems but should be your final solution...
