Default Help! Installed SP6 with MDS by mistake!

Please Login to Remove!

I was running BES 4.1 SP5 (Exchange) previously and I upgraded to SP6 but when I installed it I selected the 2nd option instead of the first option (I believe it was BES with MDS components) instead of just BES and components. Now I can't complete the installation because it is asking for the BB MDS Integration Service DB settings...which we don't use so I don't have.

I can open the BB Manager and it shows version 4.1.6.9 but none of the Blackberries have made contact since I did the upgrade. I tried restarting the services and rebooting the server several times with no luck. I also tried reinstalling sp 4, 5 and 6 but the installation for them all starts at the point where it is asking me for the BB MDS Integration Service DB name...which I don't have because we don't use it. My only option is to enter a name or cancel it.

Any advice...other than reinstalling the BES from scratch?

UPDATE: I was able to get the BB's connected by starting the services from the services console (not through start BB Services in BB Manager). So they are connected now but I would still like to complete the installation some how. Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I made that same mistake. I actually exited the upgrade and realized that i had already went down the wrong road so I opened back up the upgrade and just selected the defaults and let the install install it for me.

It hasn't caused any issues. So I would suggesst going back into the install program and rerunning it and choose the defaults and everything should be fine.

I tried that but every time I try to rerun the install program it starts from where it left off...waiting for the BB MDS Integration Service DB settings. I also tried to run the setup programs for sp4 and sp5 and they started off at the same point. Is there a way to remove sp6 so I can start over with the install?

It started where it left off for me too but I just picked the defaults for the database names, etc and let it install. I dont think there is a way to go back once you've gotten to that point.

I ran into this too with a past service pack... I don't recall what I did to fix it, but I DID find a solution here, and fixed it and got rid of the MDS Services that I added in error.
