Default Thinking of Upgrading to 4.5 for Verizon 8330

Please Login to Remove!

Im thinking of Upgrading my 8330. I upgraded my friends 8310. he says it works great. Ive been reading peoples reviews of it. Some are good some are Ehh! What are your Reviews on 4.5? also when i did the upgrade on my friends phone all the programs were erased and all they werent restored back on. Would I have to do that to my phone?? Or is there a way to load them up just the way they were before?

My upgrades have always restored third party applications, and there is a setting in the OS upgrde window for that... to restore data, etc. Perhaps you missed that?

I have Verizon and OS 4.5 is working great for over a week now. I love the HTML email, but have not used the Docs to Go yet.

I upgraded my 8320 to 4.5 and everything went great. All my settings and third party apps were restored perfectly. However, if you need your ringtones to be as loud as before, you might want to do some research first.

And what would that research reveal?

On the Verizon network and using the 8330. The upgrade 2 days ago (Monday, Aug.11) went without a hitch. All 3rd party apps were on the BB and functioning as before.

I'm thinking about upgrading to 4.5 too. I like the Verizon theme. Is there any way to keep it after upgrading?

Question

Do it. Did it and love it. No issues at all running 4.5.0.56(upgraded from 4.5.0.51 from Verizon 4.3.0.127 originailly.)

** I do have a question as a side note that maybe someone can answer. When i had 4.3 on the device it showed 82MB of memory and now with 4.5 it shows 96MB. I have other Verizon 8330s on our BES and they all show 82MB. Mine does have a memory card in it but I have not seen any decrease in available size of it -like the OS reserved an area for RAM. Anybody know why it is showing more Memory with 4.5?
