Unhappy Question!!! Formating 8 gig mirco sd card?

Please Login to Remove!

Wanted to know what is the best way on formating micro sd card. I was told if you were to format it, you would loose some gig space. I currently have Sandisk 8 gig micro card. I recently upgraded my OS to 4.5, but i'm finding that i can't play videos from my card. (pic, music, ring tones all work fine).

If anyone can lend a thought, this would be nice.

Options > Media Card > Menu > Format. You will have 7.6gb of free space.

8GB micro SD? I am having trouble even finding one. I currently have a 1GB micro sd that came with my BB Curve 8330, OS4.3. I would like to upgrade to an 8GB, but all I find are micro SDHC. I thought the two were not compatable, will my 8330 accept an SDHC?

Running into the same issue here. Purchased an 8 GB Sandisk SDHC. Tried to format in my 8330, running 4.5, or on a Windows Vista or XP computer, no dice. Any help?

WillFulmer; do the format of your card with your Blackberry: Options > Media Card > Menu > Format. As JSanders said; you shouldn't have any trouble. All Blackberries with O.S. >= 4.5 are capable of reading and writing Micro SDHC Cards

Tried that.....whole BB locks up as if its trying to do something, but doesn't. End up having to manually reboot. Tried it in wife's 8830 and the thing instantly reboots (4.5).

Possibly a bad card?

Try returning card to store for replacement.

Probably; try formatting it in your PC and putting it into the blackberry

I understand O/S 4.5 will format SDHC, but until Sprint releases 4.5 I am stuck with 4.3. Am I stuck with a smaller SD card until they release 4.5? Or does a company make an 8gb MicroSD, I can't seem to find one.

Thanks for the assist.
