Im new to this blackberry thing and already im having a problem. I was at work and i was making a phone call but my service bar said SOS. so i turn the phone off and turned it back on and JVM ERROR 102 appeared on the phone. Now I had alot of important numbers on my phone that i thought were being saved to my SIM card but when i went to the At&t store they said that my SIM card was empty. Somebody please let me know if i can get my numbers back. Thank you!

Remove the battery from the BB (leave the BB powered on) and replace the battery, reboot and do you get any errors?

Your contacts are saved to the Address Book. You should do a backup using desktop manager or sync the device to outlook or a simple ASCII file if you need to save your information.

I still get the same error! and when i hook it up to the computer the desktop manager says disconnected.

You could try connecting your device with the battery removed from it and see if you can backup the data that way.

Just pull the battery and plug in the device to your computer. Then click on Backup and Restore and see if you can make a backup that way.

do this Brook since the battery pull didn't work: make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed to your PC, then go to http://www.att.com/bbdownloads and choose your BB model from the drop down list, follow those directions to get it downloaded to the PC (make sure to choose Save when it gives you the choice of save or run). Install the file. Go ahead and try what sgtcasey suggested on how to get desktop manager to connect to your BB successfully. If that works then procede to the application loader icon and follow the steps there.

If you can make a backup then yes. If you can't and you have to use dgray's method to reload the OS then no.
