Default Getting internt via Bluetooth on the MSI Wind

Please Login to Remove!

Howdy!

Been going through the old post but am having a bit of trouble. I'm trying to get internet to work on my 8320 with my new MSI Wind. Everything works great if i connect via USB.

However, when i try and connect via bluetooth I just hang on verifying username/password. I get a windows error of 718. The remote computer didn't respond.

I have tried different init strings and re-doing the connection several times. My bluetooth software automatically chose com40 and when I dial the *90# it opens a bluetooth connection with my phone, dials, and then hangs on the username/password.

Sorry if this is a repost but I wasn't able to find much in the recent posts.

Thoughts?

Thanks
Adam

You need to make sure that the bluetooth adapter is using the Windows native driver. That's the only driver that Desktop Manager will talk to and DM must be connected to the BB before you can dial out as a modem.

Even if its via bluetooth?

I know it has to be for USB connections.

Yep, bluetooth as well. Just think of it as a wireless USB connection.

My desktop manager software doesn't see my bluetooth com40 connection for some reason so I can't sync via bluetooth...

So after some more fiddling and a reboot of the phone and computer...everything is working.

Note: Desktop Manager software is not running.

That's cool. I've never seen anyone get it going without DM.

Default personally

usb cable is better. faster connection. using bluetooth is a pain to make consistently work. least that's my problems. sucks to have to carry around an extra cable. but in my line of work where i'm in remote areas a lot. using bluetooth with a weak cell signal can make for a very long time for one page to pull up.

Do you like your MSI Wind? I got mine July 9. I have the 8310 (Att). I am going to try an connect it to my Wind next week when I have some free time. I have used search and checked out past posts but any new suggestions on an easy way of doing this will be appreciated.
