Question How to Open (Install) .CSI file

Please Login to Remove!

Hi folks

I got e-mail from RIM with 3 .CSI files. I have details to install and sign the application.

But I am not able to open (install) the .CSI file.

When I double click on .CSI file it shows the Windows message "Open with .."

Can anyone help me how can I proceed further and which program will open or install .CSI file.

Thanks,
Alpesh

Have you installed the JDE? It should register the .csi extension to open with the SignatureTool.jar. Here is how to open them manually:

javaw.exe -jar "%ProgramFiles%\Research In Motion\BlackBerry JDE 4.x.x\bin\SignatureTool.jar" <csi_file>

Where 4.x.x is your JDE version (e.g. 4.2.1 or 4.3.0).

Also make sure you have the Java SDK installed (version 5 or 6) for javaw.exe.

Hope this helps.

I am having a similar problem and I used your technique to open the file manually... everything is fine until I move my mouse to create random key or what ever after that i get an error message that tell me that the .csi file doesn't exist... obviously it's not finding the file...is there a certain place I should put the file so that it will find it?
