Look in vendor.xml and you will find it. Convert your vendor id to hexidecimal (216 decimal = D8 hexidecimal) and search for "xD8". Your vendor is found as follows:
I am having a similar problem. My BB is showing a vendor ID of 140, and I have no idea which Vodafone software to use. I have DL'ed 4 different vodafone OS's, removed Vendor XML and still cannot mount the OS to restore a dead BB. I'm at the error 507 screen, but the Desktop Manager insists that I do not have any software for this BB........PLEASE HELP!!!
But it doesn't matter who your vendor is. You can upgrade to the OS from any vendor for your model. See the stickies at the top of all the series specific forums (such as 8100 series, 8300 series, etc.) to find the latest OS for your specific model. Follow the instructions to install it on your BB, regardless of vendor/carrier.
I would think the only thing you really need to know the carrier for would be for unlocking and I would expect that any reputable unlocking service would be able to look up the vendor ID to find out who the carrier is.
If it's not vendor specific, then I'm at a loss. I have downloaded several versions of the OS from a wide variety of carriers, but all are for the 8100. The App loader still says no apps available. I'm stuck at error 507, but I have recovered other 8100's using the same pc/software I have now. Don't get this one...please help.
I feel a little silly. I got the 8100 working again, and the problem wasn't the phone. It was Vista. I hate this accursed OS!! Thanks for all the help!!!
Does anyone have any idea how to find or contact vendor 214 AMX? I have looked for days and haven't come up with anything. I'm stuck in that whole suspended pin # situation and I can't even find any contact information so they can reject releasing my pin
Honestly any kind of help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Sounds like America Movil of Mexico. It's apparently a holding company for carriers like Telcel, Claro, and Comcel.
