I recollect that we used to be a Google News Launcher for our BB desktop but it does not seem to exist anymore.

Thank you for responding. I think you may misunderstand my post.
You can access the site but you cant get their startup icon (Launcher).

I can use web shortcuts as a last resort.

Have you tried installing from this link? Mobile
You can also install the Google Mobile Updater from mobile.google.com. It will allow you to see and install Google apps/updates/home screen links.

Like the post above suggests, try the Google Mobile Updater. I just checked my GMU list and it shows News v2.1.3 as being available.
