Default Good headphones / headset - 8320

Please Login to Remove!

I just got an 8320 off Ebay, love the phone but unfortunately it didn't come with a headset. Any recommendations on earphones that are good for audio and video but that can double as a headset?

Thanks.

There's not much around yet because the 8320 uses a 3.5mm plug as oppose to the Universal Headset plug of 2.5mm . .
The good news is that You can use the best headphones for iPods and walkmans with your 8320...

Wirelessly posted (8330 Sprint)

I am using Motorola S9 BT headset for music and hands free. However, BT does not work for video. I also carry a pair of EShure EC4 ear phones when I travel for video.

Hope this helps.

How much are you willing to spend is really the question. There are literally hundreds of choices. Also, are you looking for ear buds, in-the ear, or what type? How much audio quality do you want, and what characteristics (bass, mids, highs, etc) are most important?

I got those wired headsets made by RIM it just arrived today so I haven't had a chance to really use them, I mainly got them for when I work out in the gym but I've used them a little bit today and they aren't too bad.

I'm fine with wired... and would prefer anything but earbuds.

Depending on how much you want spend, you could go for some bluetooth stereo headsets, but those start pretty high up there.

As an alternative you could try getting some ear gels that may make it a bit more comforable for you, I know alot people on this forum use the eargels for the BlueTooth headsets (mainly JawBones), it should have the same effect on headphones as well. (I think)

If an adapter were available for $20 or less that allowed a PC-type headset to be used with a Curve, I would buy one in an instant. Are there others here would would buy such an adapter? If so, please post your interest, as that would increase the likelihood of such a product coming into existence (continue reading to find out why).

I just bought a Sennheiser PC151 hoping to use it with my 8320 but it doesn't work because the PC151 has 2 jacks for use with standard PC setup. I spent an hour searching the internet but nobody makes an adapter. An outfit called Pocket PC Techs makes something close - an adapter that can take PC-type headphones and convert them into use for a standard phone. I contacted them to see if they are planning to come out with something that would work on the Curve and the answer is not currently, but I am seeing if I can get him interested. Here is why I want something beyond the included earbuds:

The bundled headset is quite good for phone use, but has some drawbacks:

1) It is very uncomfortable in my ear when walking around (i.e. taking the dogs for a walk). I'd rather have a comfortable padded headset. Seems like most (possibly all?) headsets that include a microphone that I can use with my Blackberry Curve use earbuds. I'd probably use the Sennheiser PC151 most of the time if I could.

2) The quality for music is low on the included headset. I'd rather use something relatively decent like a PC151. I already have found that regular headphones without microphones work fine - I just bought a Sennheiser HD485 for $65 that is weak on treble but otherwise fantastic.

3) I'd rather carry around 1 set of headphones than 2 - and more importantly I'd rather listen to music with something like a PC151 instead of the HD485 because I want to be able to take a call when it comes in without having to unplug the headset.
