Default 7290 - I can't turn it on?

Please Login to Remove!

I was trying to charge my 7290, connected to PC and waited for 2 hours. Then i looked it still has 25% battery (there was thunder near battery sign). Firstly I've tried to reboot it, so I take out battery put it in again and from that moment I can't turn it on. When It has battery, red flashlight lights for a few secs and then appears hour-glass, I wonder if i wait it will boot but i'm waiting for like 4 hours and still the same. I think it's rebooting from time to time because hour-glass sometimes dissapears for a few secs. What I can do with it? Please help!

Did you just get the device or have you been using it, if you have been using it I hope that you have a backup because your data will be lost? The repeating hour glass without booting up indicates a serious issue. You can try this to revive, just follow the steps exactly please.

Start with a device wipe:

How do I wipe the BlackBerry using Jl Cmder? - BlackBerryFAQ.com

If it won't connect:

What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe - BlackBerryFAQ.com

Then reload the OS:

How do I upgrade the OS on my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ.com

Good Luck and welcome to the forums!

You only need to use step two if step one doesn't work. Be patient in the third step because it can take a long time. If you follow the instructions exactly there is a VERY good chance your BB will be back in business shortly!

I tried the jl_cmdr but it wont connect.

It started with a 365 error, then it came back after a reload. Then I got something that said "Type S,T,A,R,T," to reset, but I couldn't type anything.

Then I got the FFFFFFF, now the Desk top mgr says USB UNKNOWN and after I press next it does nothing.

All I get (connected to the PC or not) is 2 flashes from the red light every 3 seconds.

Hello E,

I've read your very helpful suggestions and tried your methods for my 7290 which has been showing the spinning dial for 2 days straight. However, when the Apploader wizard is open and I click Next, it looks like its thinking but then nothing happens. In the first method, after i get past the "push any button to continue" on the DOS prompt, i just get a flasing red and black DOS window where i can faintly make out the "Wipe" command for number 4, but nothing happens there either. Any more help you can give here?

And the way my problem started was that I was testing a friend's phone with my sim card so i had to take out my battery and when i put it back, it wouldnt come on except for the dial. Hope you can help.

Thanks so much.
