is your main screen possibly the today theme? there are some issues where it will not always remove from that screen if it is that theme. you can try changing to another theme and changing back to see if that works. welcome to the forums

I found that when I'm using the today theme, the easiest way to get them off the home screen after they've been deleted is to reboot the BlackBerry. Also if you delete your SMS's through the Advanced option in the Desktop software's Backup Manager, it will usually fix this problem.

I'm having the same issue. After I delete all the SMS's, the same two still appear on the today screen. Also, when I get a new sms, it does appears on the today screen, then when I view the message, and go back to the today screen, the latest message no longer appears, and its the two previous stuck messages are still there, even if they were deleted from the phone.

I've only had the phone 4 days now, and for the 1st 2 days it worked fine, the last 2 I've got these two stuck SMS's. I rebooted and it was still there, ended up pulling the battery and they disappeared, but just 2 more sms's will get stuck again.

This is the reason I don't use the Today-style themes. This is too annoying. I find the Zen-style themes better.

i still have to check into other themes. just had the BB 4 days so still getting used to it over a "stone-age" cell phone where all the phone is good for is a phone haha.

any suggestions for themes that are similar to today? I like the message popping up a preview, and the calendar displaying any upcoming events, i just dont like the sticking messages.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8100: BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I believe the Today-style themes are the only ones that do that.

I had the same problem and pulled the batt. It worked for me..
But, I do have to say this should not be the solution.

I hope BB will come with a solution for this great theme

Here is the problem. If you have your phone locked or in pouch it will automatically open your message when you receive it upon pulling it out of pouch or unlock. When this happens that is when the message gets stuck on the Today screen. 2 resolutions: instead of trying to delete the message, you want to mark it as unopened. Then reopen it or delete and it will dissapear from front screen. OR just wait 20-30 seconds before looking at your message when you receive it and it will prevent it from auto opening. Its basically the auto opening of the message feature that causes this to happen. just marking message unopened will fix it.

Same problem here on an 8830. I've tried the above fixes but they aren't working for me. Tried changing themes (I have been using the Today theme), marking the messages as unread etc. No joy.

Smile Clearing Stuck Messages

I had the same problem where the messages are stuck on my today screen. I selected options, MARK ALL PRIOR OPEN, and that seems to clear everything.
