Default jmIrc or WLIrc connection issues

Please Login to Remove!

One of my other forums has a chat room. So...wth, it's an IRC chat, i'll load up my 8310 curve and voila.

Well, the server is:
irc.slashnet.org
vortex.slashnet.org or
moo.slashnet.org

the room is #lxforums

I have tried setting my nickname, the server, etc...
I get a hung connection.
Any settings need to be altered in options?
I've tried a few, but now I'm lost.

Anyone?

Go to Options->Advanced Options->TCP and type "proxy" (without quotes) where it says APN. Leave username and password blank. Try that and see if that fixes your problem.

Same results, darn it! Thanks for the suggestion though

I've tried via socket and http...same result.
Looks like it connects, because after 30-45 secs it says "disconnected from server"

Go back to the APN settings and type "public" (without quotes) instead of proxy. I doubt it will work but it doesn't hurt to give it a try.

I've also not been able to connect to any bb irc apps including WLirc, Virca, Jmirc, and pinstack irc...

I get the same error message with all 4 products...

"Unable to connect - open tunnel failure"

Since I've posted about this on numerous bbf threads, done all the searching I could, even googling, who can I contact, or where can I go to get this figured out. I'm willing to spend money to have the problem resloved, irc is that important!

Anyone?

I've been able to get jmIrc to work, though I don't use it much. Are you using the default port?
