This may have been covered but i haven't been able to find a thread about it yet... I was reviewing the requirements for Blackberry's version of Windows live Messenger, and it says that WLM isn't supported by Bell for the 8830, is this in the works? is there any dates on when it will be released? is it available???

When i try to download it i get an error message that my device does not meet the requirements..

try a search on this one.... not every carrier is supporting the RIM made apps.

I DL'ed WLM direct from Blackberry.com (a couple of months ago) onto my Bell 8830. The version is 1.0.16, and it is working just fine.

I believe if you follow the links from the bell.ca web site, it makes you click on agreeing to pay, then sends you to the DL page at blackberry.com

I thought windows messenger wouldnt work with BB.

I know BB messenger is available but never saw anything about Msn hotmail messenger.

You can download the WLM for BlackBerry here:

Bell Mobility does support WLM, however, there is a $3/month fee for using the application. One month of free service is offered for people that are adding the application for the first time.

I had an 8703 before this, and had issues with facebook/wlm, then downloaded 4.2 os (telus version) deleting the carrier file, and could get the two apps to work and my phone still worked with bell aliant.. is there any type of option for the 8830?

I wish Sprint supported this... Heck they all should support all the IM apps.

You got that right. I have a better chance of using WLM than Yahoo msgr anytime.
