Exclamation Need help with 8130 Pearl

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I got my new Blackberry yesterday and of course I am overwhelmed!
tried using the CD included in the package, but it seems they assume I know what I am doing.

1. I want to get rid of automatic word fill when typing a message and have ONLY multitap - How can I remove the option permanently?

I never know which icon to go to to find what I am looking for.

2. cannot connet to the browser - do I have to pay extra for this option?

3. I would also like to add Signature to the emails

Please, let me know where I can get step-by-step VERY SIMPLE tutorial.

I will appreciate all help.

1.) While typing a message hit Menu>Enable SureType (this will pivot to TAP).
(You really should give suretype a try, just don't look at the screen while typing it really does a good job and is so much faster than tap when you learn it)

2.) If you have a blackberry data plan no. see

What are the TCP and APN settings? - BlackBerryFAQ

3.) SIgnature to Emails. Are you using BIS? If so login to your account via a PC and edit the account (there will be a signature tag box) If you are talking about SMS the best way is to make an auto-text entry make xx = Joe SMith and ABC Company, then you only need to type XX in the future.

If you don't know here the BIS site is see:

Where can I log into my BIS account? - BlackBerryFAQ

Lastly check out below for my step-by-step instructions the FAQS at the top of the site have lots of screen shots.

Good luck and welcome to the forums! Enjoy!

Thank you for your reply.
I went to register for Verizon Blacjkberry, but the message tells me I can only do so by using Blackberry. How do I do it?

Just direct the device browser to the link you used on the PC. Otherwise call the carrier and they can enable it so you can access via PC.

I'm going to suggest you give the predictive text a little more of a chance. ALOT of people new to the BB are turned off with it since they're used to the multitap on numeric keypads but it's something that you'll get used to fairly quickly and it's much much quicker.

I'm going to suggest you read the user manual once or twice. All the stuff you are asking about is explained in there. Ok well, except for #2 and #3. That stuff you can find out here. You know, it never hurts to read the instructions from time to time
