Trying to setup blackberry messenger, when I try to put in the name of the person for that device, it doesn't give me the option....so i either have ok or cancel...

Basically it won't allow me to add his name... am I missing something?

It only works with other BB users. You have to add their pin to your address book. Then when you hit "add contact" simply highlight the contact you want to add (don't click on it) and select add using PIN.

that's not the problem....

I have it set up on 2 other users no problem.. we are all on the same bes..

When on first click on his Blackberry messenger, it asks you to put in the person's name...

I don't have that option, so it's either hit "ok" or "cancel".. if i hit ok it comes up with an error....

Put them in your address book first, then try to add them under Messenger.

Are you sure that is not the prompt that says "Please enter your name as you would like others to see it"?

You should fill that in and hit OK.

Once you go through a few more prompts, you should be able to hit the menu and Add a Contact.. which will bring you to your address book.
