Question Provisional Call Forwarding on BB

Please Login to Remove!

Do any BB's offer provisional call forwarding? Any blackberry I am familiar with: models from Bell, Telus, or Rogers all have off/on call forwarding only (either you call forward or you don't.)

I would like to use one of those voicemail transcription services like PhoneWire, but one really needs provisional call forwarding to make them worthwhile: eg. An incoming call would be forwarded to the transcription service if the call is not answered after say 6 rings, or if you are talking to someone else. They transcribe it to text and email it to you. Presto . . . no tedious voicemail to retrieve . . . no phone numbers to copy down . . . written records of your voicemails.

Then it would be possible to put the bb on silent profile while in a meeting a to get your voicemails as transcribed emails.

Does anyone on the forum has provisional call forwarding?

Is provisional call forwarding a hardware or a carrier limitation?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I have it available on my 8320 with T-Mobile and take advantage of it.

I also have it Verizon calls it no busy answer transfer. If I don't answer mine then goes to my youmail, which then emails me a voice file.

Well, the options I have with T-Mo are:

Forward Unanswered Calls

1) If Busy
2) If No Reply
3) If Not Reachable

It might be different for other carriers but I don't know. You can change the numbers by going into Call Log>Options>Call Forwarding>Menu>Add Number.

You can change the numbers for all three and have different numbers for each one. I realized I preferred the GC voicemail box over the carrier one and forwarded all three to my GC number.

Question

So it's the Canadian carriers that aren't offering the call forwarding options?
