I have an unlocked Blackberry 7730 ( T Mobile ) but I want to use my Telstra SIM card in it so I can keep my Australian phone number when I am in SYdney. But Telstra will only offer a Blackberry service for an IMEI and PIN issued by them ie because they didn't sell the Blackberry I can't use their push email service. I have a Telstra email address and also a business web email address. Is there some way I can use the Telstra mobile phone service , which does work on the Blackberry, to get my email while I am here ? I am not fussy about getting instant email but would like to send and receive email using my 7730 without having to buy another one and carry two Blackberrys everywhere !!!

Unfortunately, no. Without having the data plan on your SIM card, you can not access the GPRS network at all. Without a BB Data Plan, all you have is voice and SMS.

They obviously don't want your business, to be so picky about things like that. It's not like they're getting rich off just the sale of the phone.
