You may have better luck pleading to the store manager that your device is not working as intended and that you are missing calls. That may get them to waive the Service fee, but it is completely up to the Mgr.
Is the phone dropping calls? Losing signal?
How often does it miss calls a day?
Does it recieve any calls or do they all go to VM?
Can the issue be reproduced in a another location?
It could possiblely be a temporary network glitch and will correct itself? Maybe that is wishfull thinking from an optimist.
