You don't want to know how! The information on dieting and exercise is readily available.

That sandwich is AMAZING!! LOL! But seriously folks, this is utterly ridiculous! They consume 3,000 calories a day. If you eat more than you burn, you gain weight. It truly isn't rocket science like most exercise infomercials make it seem. Unbelievable!

Guys I am going to play devils advocate here. I have been over weight my entire life. I am 5'8 and weight almost 400 pounds. I do not eat meals like they are talking about and I can not for the life of me loose weight. I can not excersise do to the pains and aches I have from years of torture I have put my body through.
I just want you people to think about the words that are coming out of your mouths. There was another thread where a person got their feelings stomped on (By myself I might add) so think about what you are saying because there may be others on this forum who are obese as well.
Words do cut and once said, they can not be taken back. I have been called fat ass or worse my entire life it does hurt.
My daily diet consists of 1800 calories been that way for almost 8 months I have only lost 8 pounds

Dawg,
I am not attacking over weight people in general. I think we can agree based on some of the statements from this family that they are more about making excuses!
I was a fulltime colleg student and worked 40 hours a week. I still managed to exercise!
To say " we don't know how" is bullcrud
EZ was not always so slim and fit when I started running in 1989 I weighed almost 250 I was laughed at and joked but I ignored it. I was running and I enjoyed it and I started to lose a lot of weight the next fall when crosscountry started most of the team didn't recognize me. I have made a promise to myself to not get that way again as long as I can help it. I do not joke/make fun of overweight folks they are that way by choice, genetics, or laziness if they are that way due to laziness and lack of trying I have little sympathy.

(Just saw this thread..)
I think everyone's hang up is not the fact that they are over wieght, but more that they are using it as a handicap and 30,000 pounds/$43,347.77 a year for not doing anything....
They make more then I do and I work full time :(

A fair statement, Dawg. There are people who are genetically predisposed to obesity, and that should be taken into account. The family in the posted article may in fact have this condition-but I think that what is generating a lot of the commentary here is :
1. Unlike you, they are very clearly not helping themsleves with their eating habits.
2. VERY unlike you, they are using their condition, whether genetic or self-inflicted, as an excuse to not hold down gainful employment, and furthermore, ask for a larger dole.
If I am enterpreting the comments in this thread correctly, it's more about being self sufficient than being overweight.
Somebody bust my chops if I'm wrong about this...

I understand what you're saying, Dawg. But you have a job. You don't use your weight as an excuse. Your situation is different than what we are saying. Having said that, you're right, I wrote the statements I made without thinking they could have been offensive to others. If I did offend you, I sincerely apologize.
I am fortunate enough to be in good health. I work hard to maintain that as much as I can. I don't smoke, I don't do drugs, recreational or otherwise, and I only drink socially. The article posted above is not so much about their weight, but the fact that they use it as to excuse their laziness.
An 1800 calorie diet is a good diet. It's odd that you haven't lost that much weight in 8 months. There could be a few factors as to why. You could have a very slow metabolism. There are ways of speeding that up. Instead of eating 2 or 3 regular to large size meals a day, break it into 5 or 6 small portioned meals.
When you eat 2 or so times a day, your body doesn't know when it will get food again, so it stores the food. When you break it into 5 or 6 small portions, your body knows it's constantly being fed, so it continues to burn. You're still eating the same foods, the same 1800 calories, just broken up into smaller portions and consumed more frequently.
Aslo, you're on an 1800 calorie diet, you're working (as I stated earlier), you're making an effort, not an excuse. The same can't be said about the people in that article.

I understand guys I agree these people are out of control. I was just asking people to tread lightly. Not for me because I am fine with who I am, My wife and kids love me for who I am.
The reason I only eat that many calories is due to finances I feed my family first then I eat.
I just dont want others to get their feelings hurt.
